Östergötland Music Days 2016 invites you to enjoy classical music and jazz in our lovely region. The festival’s main cities are Linköping and Norrköping. But we play all over the province, in castles, churches, art museums, concert halls etc.

The festival opens on the inner court-yard of the Linköping Castle. Star soprano Kerstin Avemo is featured in an opera program with the Östgöta Symphonic Winds– one of Sweden’s five professional wind ensembles. The concert, which is doubled in Åtvidaberg the day after, is conducted by our Artistic Director, Staffan Mårtensson, who will also perform as clarinetist in the festival.

During the week you will meet some of Sweden’s most prominent artists, such as pianists Roland Pöntinen and Love Derwinger, cellist Chrichan Larson, actress Stina Ekblad.

As for jazz, you will hear one of the country’s best jazz singers, Kristin Amparo with pianist Joel Lyssarides and his trio, in Norrköping and Linköping, and Östgöta Jazz Band in Kinda. Local professional groups include the Crusell Wind Quintet and the Östgöta Brass Quintet.

Children of all ages are welcome to each and all of our concerts, but we do have specific children’s concerts, this year in Linköping and Norrköping.

Take a good look into our program. You will find a number of interesting venues to visit, not only for the music but for the guided tours and exhibits, for a picknick or a moment of church tranquility.

Welcome to enjoy wonderful music in a province of beauty!
