Östgöta Symphonic Wind Band with star soprano Maria Fontosh. Conductor: Staffan Mårtensson. Music by Tchaikowsky, Verdi, Puccini, Rossini.

Chamber Music – New and Old. Concert and Discussion.

Have a sandwich and listen to Rolf Martinsson’s new Suite for Woodwind Quintet played by the Crusell Quintet, and to String Sextet by Linköping-born composer August Ölander (1824-1886), played by Tobias Ringborg and friends. Pre-concert talk with Tomas Löndahl, Secretary of the Royal Musical Academy, and Staffan Mårtensson.

Babettes Kafferi is open in conjunction to the concert.

Festival Finale – Double Septets

This will be an oasis for chamber-music lovers; two master-works, side by side. Beethoven’s Septet was one of the composer’s most loved pieces in his life-time. It was played also in Stockholm, and inspired Franz Berwald to write his Grand Septet.

Artists: Tobias Ringborg, violin; James Opie, viola; Mats Lidström, cello; Danijel Petrovic, bass; Staffan Mårtensson, clarinet; Anders Engström, fagott; Kristina Kärlin, horn.

In between the septets: a Cello Intervention with an ensemble from Mats Lidström’s Master-Class at the Lunnevad Folk High School.

Tickets: 200 SEK. Under 25 years: 100 SE. Martha’s Café is open.
